The Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum has embarked on a massive renovation project in recognition of the 75th anniversary of Truman’s presidency. The museum closed in July 2019 and anticipates a reopening in fall 2020. The Truman Library’s transformative renovation officially kicked off on September 5 with a groundbreaking ceremony featuring Missouri Governor Mike Parson, Archivist of the U.S. David FerrieroMissouri State Senator John Rizzo, the president’s grandson Clifton Truman Daniel as well as many other local officials and friends of the Truman Library.

September 5, 2019: Truman Library’s Groundbreaking Celebration

The Truman Presidential Library and Museum closed on July 22 for the renovation to begin, but before construction can start, the hundreds of artifacts that have been available for public viewing in the recently retired exhibits need to be safely stored and archived.
