Swope Park Rangers Day at the Truman Library | July 25, 2017

Free Family Fun Day and Special Swope Park Rangers Game

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum will host a free day of family fun with Swope Park Rangers Day at the Truman Library on Saturday, Aug. 12. The Truman Library’s lawn will be filled with a futsal field, food trucks, a bounce house and more.

Later that evening, the Swope Park Rangers host Truman Night when they face off against Orange County SC. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free limited edition Harry and Bess Truman bobblehead. All tickets include admission to the Truman Library and also a donation to the Truman Library Institute’s campaign to install a statue of Harry Truman in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.

Below are the details for the day:

Swope Park Rangers Day at the Truman Library: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Truman Library (500 W. U.S. Hwy. 24, Independence, Mo. 64050)

  • Free activities on the lawn throughout the day, including a futsal field, soccer goal, bounce house, and an opportunity to meet the Swope Park Rangers official mascot Hat Trick Harry.
  • Free shaved ice from noon to 3 p.m., and hot dogs for purchase from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Special Sports Themed Tours of the Truman Library occurring at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (free with museum admission or free for Truman Library Institute members)

Truman Night at the Swope Park Rangers Game: 7:30 p.m. at the Children’s Mercy Victory Field in the Swope Soccer Village (6310 Lewis Road, Kansas City, Mo. 64132); tickets are $14 for Truman Library Institute members or $20 for the general public. All ticket sales include admission to the Truman Library and a donation to the Truman Statue Campaign. Tickets are also available for the Presidential Package, which includes access to a hospitality tent with buffet dinner and exclusive seating at the game for $40. Call 913.951.3562 to purchase tickets.
