Truman’s America: We Hold These Truths
Unexpectedly thrust into office in April 1945, Harry S. Truman had little preparation to lead the nation he inherited. A lifelong student of ancient and American history with a steady moral compass, Truman surprised the world by bringing decisive energy to shape American democracy. Equality. Liberty. Freedom. Democracy. Guided by the vision of the Founders, Truman implemented bold policies at home and abroad. His leadership advanced civil rights, safeguarded democracy and laid the groundwork for a new era of international cooperation and democratic alliances. Explore the legacy where the ideals of the Framers meet the determination of Harry Truman. Reserve your spot now to experience the story, inspiration and relevance of Truman’s legacy firsthand.

The Story of US: An Exclusive Preview
In April 2026, the Truman Presidential Library and Museum will unveil a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition, The Story of US. For the first time, a remarkable collection of rarely displayed historically significant documents will travel from the National Archives in Washington, D.C., to Independence, Missouri. Collectively, these documents define the American story—from the nation’s founding and the Civil War to the Civil Rights Movement, world wars, and the ongoing development of the great American experiment—democracy.

Get a head start on the conversations everyone will be having as we approach July 4, 2026! Book this captivating presentation for an exclusive preview of the exhibition highlights, including the Truman Doctrine, the Marshall Plan, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the Louisiana Purchase, Brown v. Board of Education, and more. Be the one in your circle who can share the inside story of America’s enduring experiment in liberty and democracy and the truths we hold dear.
