Free Admission at the Truman Library for Emergency Preparedness Fair | September 11, 2018

The 7th Annual Hon. Ike Skelton Veterans Day Ceremony Salutes America’s Veterans

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum is hosting a family fun day complete with an Emergency Preparedness Fair and free museum admission this Saturday, September 15. The Truman Library grounds will be filled with fire trucks and other emergency response vehicles along with educational booths from the community.

The day will begin with a flag raising at 9 a.m., and booths will be open through 3 p.m. The Emergency Preparedness Fair is a great opportunity for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to earn emergency preparedness or first aid badges while also learning about the history of our hometown president Harry Truman. Local HAM radio operators will be set up to communicate from the Library with “Harry” at his home.
